RBC Rating Agency has summed up the results of new car sales in the first quarter of 2013. the total number of cars sold remained virtually unchanged - an increase of only 0.3%. This equality of indicators corresponds to the forecasts of analysts who predict an increase in sales by a maximum of 1% during the year.
We bring to your attention ranking of the best-selling car brands in Russia in 2013. It should be noted that almost all dozens of participants showed a decrease in sales compared with the first quarter of last year. Only KIA (+ 6.14%) and Renault (+ 22.20%) showed an increase.

7. Volkswagen (35,274 pcs.)
Two models from VW - Polo and Tiguan, entered the Top 25 most popular cars among Russians at once, but if sales of the more affordable Polo practically did not sag, then demand for the more expensive Tiguan fell by 17%.
6. Nissan (35 916 pcs.)
Among the popular models of the brand, Nissan Qashqai should be noted; its sales increased by 9% compared to 2012. Also among the 25 most popular models was the updated version of the Nissan X-Trail.
5. Chevrolet (36,406 pcs.)
Among the popular models of the brand were a compact SUV Chevrolet Niva and the Russians loved Chevrolet Cruze.
4. Hyundai (40,714 units)
Hyundai Solaris breaks all records of popularity, second only to Lada Granta. Among other models from Hyundai, ix35 crossovers available in price are in special demand.
3. KIA (41 724 pcs.)
The hit of Korean automakers was the updated KIA Rio, whose sales grew by as much as 8% compared to the first quarter of last year. The second most popular model from KIA was the Sportage compact crossover.
2. Renault (48,030 pcs.)
Budget crossover Renault Duster was among the ten most popular car models, providing Renault a significant increase in sales. The hatchback Renault Sandero remains popular among Russians.

For many years Lada has been the leader in the ranking of the best-selling car brands in Russia. Among the models of the Russian automobile concern, the most popular was Lada Granta, whose sales increased by 438% compared to the same period last year. The wagon Lada Largus, designed on the Renault Logan platform, is also gaining popularity.
