Every year, crossovers are becoming more popular. They successfully combine the style of distant wanderings, increased patency in traditional difficult weather conditions for Russia, and at the same time they are able to feel quite comfortable in the city. And the price for them is generally lower than for their brothers who are designed for serious off-road driving, and the situation for the driver and passengers is no worse.
Here are the most anticipated new crossovers and SUVs, which I am ready to present to motorists the end of 2017 and the beginning to mid-year of 2018.
10. Audi Q6 e-Tron
The rating of the most anticipated crossovers of 2018 opens with an unusual model for the Russian eye - the Audi Q6 e-Tron electric car or, in a simple way, an electric car. Now one of the first electric swallows on the market is already ready for mass production, although still not much is known about it:

9. BMW X3
In the summer of 2017, BMW demonstrated the third generation of the BMW X3 luxury crossover to the world. It is distinguished from its “ancestor” by its increased dimensions, a new platform, an improved drive system and an interior with the latest design. In addition, light aluminum alloys are actively used in the design of the car, so the car weighs 55 kg less than the previous version.
It will be possible to buy a new model from mid-November 2017. Germans inspired by the Audi Q6 e-Tron plan to provide the user with the opportunity to choose between the traditional gasoline and non-standard electric versions of the X3 - but its release is planned much further than 2018.
8. Mazda CX-4
Mazda CX-4 - an interesting, rare type of crossover with a coupe. So far, only Chinese buyers can boast of access to an updated version of the car. The model will differ from its predecessor:
- better sound insulation;
- new suspension;
- better interior;
- a multimedia system, coupled with the latest security developments.
7. Chery Tigo 3X
Already at the end of 2017, the Chinese novelty is expected to be delivered to the Russian market - the tiny SUV Chery Tigo 3X. It is really small, because the car is only 4.2 m long and 1.76 m wide. But its design is like that of the big brothers-crossovers - plastic protective pads, increased ground clearance and roof rails.
It is clear that the model does not have all off-road qualities (it will have a front-wheel drive, a suspension typical for inexpensive cars, etc.), but as a city car with improved cross-country ability and a roomy trunk, Chery Tigo 3X will be nice.
6. Lada Vesta Cross
Most likely, next year we should expect the release of new items from the domestic manufacturer - a crossover with a sedan body. At least the project director confirmed that the car will appear on the market in the very near future (and that it is simply amazing).
Little is known about the technical characteristics of the new product so far - they will probably improve the suspension and steering, add individual settings and plastic overlays characteristic of crossovers.
5. Haval H2
One of the most popular and best of the “Chinese” on the Russian market is cars from the Haval brand, especially the Haval H9, an updated version of which went on sale at the end of October 2017.
And in China, sales of the renewed H2 started, now with an improved gearbox, a new fuel-saving transmission, increased safety measures, a modern media system and various improvements like tire pressure monitoring and parking. Perhaps this model will become one of the most anticipated Chinese crossovers in 2018 in the Russian market.
4. KIA Sorento Prime
Very soon, through Europe, the new version of the KIA Sorento Prime will reach Russia. Sales of one of the most anticipated crossovers in Russia in 2018 will begin at the end of March 2018.
The new generation will have a 3.3-liter gasoline engine and 249-liter capacity. from. (or with a diesel volume of 2.2 l and a power of 200 l. from.) and an eight-band automatic transmission.
3. Hundai Santa Fe
One of the most anticipated SUVs of 2018 is the debut of the new, fourth-generation Santa Fe SUV from Hundai, dearly beloved by Russians. They will show the novelty on strength next spring.
Little is known about it so far - unless we are promised double front optics, a significantly improved and redesigned interior, and by the end of the year there is also a seven-seater modification of the car
2. Audi Q3
Another of the new SUVs expected in Russia in 2018 is the next generation Q3, which already went to test races in the summer of 2017.
According to rumors, the size of the Audi Q3 will be larger than its predecessor, however, due to the use of the new platform, it is generally lighter. There is also an assumption that the volume of engines will be from 2.0 to 2.5 liters. In addition, the equipment will include (but not limited to) a digital panel of the most modern form, a multimedia system with the integration of smartphones, etc.
1. BMW X2 and X7
Already in the next 2018, two new BMW crossovers expected in Russia will enter the Russian market right away - it's the X2 parquet SUV and the sophisticated flagship X7. While it is precisely known that X2 will have front-wheel drive, the UKL platform, and engine power will range from 116 to 231 liters. The X7 boasts gigantic dimensions (5 m long, 2 m wide and 3.1 meter wheelbase). The power of six- and eight-cylinder engines will be 340 and 445 liters. with., and declared as gasoline and diesel and hybrid engines.
